Block-Printed Tea Towels

Instructions

1. Cut one 4x4 in piece of linoleum using a utility knife.

2. Draw a simple design on the linoleum with a pencil.

3. Carve out the design using a linoleum cutter set, ensuring to leave the raised areas intact.

4. Roll out 1/2 cup of fabric ink on a flat surface using a brayer until evenly distributed.

5. Apply the ink to the carved linoleum stamp using the brayer, ensuring even coverage.

6. Press the inked stamp firmly onto the center of each of the four 28x28 in flour sack towels.

7. Lift the stamp straight up to avoid smudging the print.

8. Allow the printed towels to dry for at least 24 hours before heat setting the ink with an iron on medium heat for 3 minutes.
