Cloth Napkins with Mitered Corners
Sew a set of six dinner napkins with crisp mitered corners. The one technique that makes homemade napkins look bought.
Instructions
1. Cut six pieces of fabric measuring 18x18 inches each.
2. Cut six pieces of interfacing measuring 18x18 inches each.
3. Iron the interfacing onto the wrong side of each fabric square.
4. Fold each fabric square in half diagonally, right sides together, and press the crease.
5. Open the fabric square and fold each corner into the center crease, then press.
6. Sew along the edges of the folded corners with a 1/4 inch seam allowance, leaving an opening for turning.
7. Turn the napkin right side out through the opening and press flat.
8. Sew a topstitch around the entire napkin, closing the opening as you go.
