Cross-Back Linen Apron
A Japanese-style pinafore apron drafted from rectangles — no pattern to buy, sized to your own measurements.
Instructions
1. Cut two rectangles of linen fabric, each measuring 30 in x 40 in.
2. Cut two strips of linen fabric, each measuring 4 in x 40 in, for the straps.
3. Hem all edges of the two large rectangles by folding over 1/4 in and sewing with a straight stitch.
4. Hem the long edges of the strap pieces by folding over 1/4 in and sewing with a straight stitch.
5. Pin the straps to the top corners of the large rectangles, aligning the raw edges.
6. Sew the straps to the rectangles with a straight stitch, 1/4 in from the edge.
7. Fold the apron in half lengthwise, right sides together, and sew the side seams with a straight stitch, 1/2 in from the edge.
8. Turn the apron right side out and press the seams flat with an iron.
