Modern Concrete Planterbox

Instructions

1. Gather all materials: Portland cement, sand, gravel, water, mold material (plywood or plastic), release agent, mixing container, mixing tool, safety gloves, safety goggles, measuring cup, level, and optional paint or sealant.

2. Determine the desired dimensions of the planter box and cut the mold material to size. For a simple rectangular planter, cut four pieces for the sides and one for the base.

3. Assemble the mold by attaching the sides to the base using screws or nails, ensuring all corners are square. Use a level to check that the mold is even.

4. Apply a release agent to the interior surfaces of the mold to prevent the concrete from sticking.

5. In a mixing container, combine 1 part Portland cement, 2 parts sand, and 3 parts gravel. Adjust the quantities based on the size of your planter.

6. Gradually add 1 cup of water to the dry mixture while stirring with a mixing tool until the consistency is similar to thick oatmeal.

7. Pour the concrete mixture into the mold, filling it to the top. Use a trowel to smooth the surface and remove any air bubbles.

8. Allow the concrete to cure for at least 24-48 hours, depending on the temperature and humidity.

9. Once cured, carefully remove the mold by unscrewing or prying it off.

10. If desired, sand any rough edges and apply paint or sealant to finish the planter box. Allow to dry according to the manufacturer's instructions.
