Quilted Pot Holders

Instructions

1. Cut two 8x8 in squares from cotton fabric for the outer layer.

2. Cut two 8x8 in squares from cotton fabric for the lining.

3. Cut two 8x8 in squares from insulated batting.

4. Layer one outer fabric square, one insulated batting square, and one lining square together, right sides facing out.

5. Pin the layers together and sew a straight line 1/4 in from the edge, leaving a 2 in gap for turning.

6. Trim the corners to reduce bulk, then turn the pot holder right side out through the gap.

7. Press the pot holder flat, ensuring the gap is folded in and pressed.

8. Topstitch around the edge 1/8 in from the edge to close the gap and secure the layers.

9. Repeat steps 4-8 for the second pot holder.

10. Cut two 2 in wide strips of bias binding, each 30 in long.

11. Attach the bias binding around the edges of each pot holder, folding the binding over the edge and pinning it in place before sewing.
