Vertical Herb Wall
Mount a tiered herb garden on a fence or balcony wall. Pockets, irrigation line, and the herbs that actually thrive vertically.
Instructions
1. Cut four pieces of 1x4 lumber to 48 in for the frame sides.
2. Cut two pieces of 1x4 lumber to 36 in for the top and bottom of the frame.
3. Assemble the frame using wood screws, pre-drilling holes with a drill and 1/8 in bit.
4. Cut a piece of landscape fabric to 48 in by 36 in and staple it to the back of the frame, leaving enough excess to fold over the top.
5. Cut six pockets from the landscape fabric, each measuring 12 in by 12 in, and attach them to the front of the frame using a staple gun.
6. Drill a 1/4 in hole at the bottom of each pocket for drainage.
7. Attach a 1/4 in irrigation line to the top of the frame, securing it with zip ties, and run it down to the bottom.
8. Plant herbs such as basil, parsley, and mint in the pockets, using potting soil to fill them.
